There are many voices today shouting that they have THE answer when it comes to ezine marketing. The truth is that there is no ONE answer. It takes work, common sense, an offer that appeals to the public and the right tools to be really successful.

Let’s forget the latest $47 piece of software for a moment and focus together on the things that REALLY WORK.

***Target Your Market***

First of all, find the ezines that are related to your product, service or biz opp. If you are selling fishing lures, you wouldn’t want to advertise in a food magazine. Even if they have a large subscriber base and the price is cheap, don’t waste your time or money.

***Past Issues***

Before spending your hard earned money, visit the website and check out past ezine issues. No archives?… contact the publisher and request an issue.

Here’s what you are looking for:

* Is the format pleasing to the eye?

* Is there plenty of white space?

* Are the lines wrapping properly?

If the ezine is not easy to read, chances of your ad being read are slim to none. If the text is all running together with no blank lines to break it up, it can be tiring on the eyes. We all read a lot during the course of the day! Readers WON’T struggle to find your ad. It must reach out and grab THEM.

Other things to look for…

* How many ads are in the ezines?

* Are they all grouped in one place?

If there are too many ads all being displayed in the same area, chances are your ad will not be seen. The reader will just scroll on by!

Keep looking!

* Is there a top sponsor ad?

* Are ads spread throughout the publication?

The top sponsor spot, or “prime real estate”, will cost more, but the chances of your ad being seen is better than in the classified section with all of the other ads.

Even a middle sponsor spot is an ideal location… your ad stands out and as the reader is going through the publication …

Bang!… There’s your ad where it’s least expected!

***Universal Appeal***

If you have a product or service that is universal in appeal, try general audience or humor/entertainment type ezines.

Why?

Because…

Subscribers do have a personal life and may just find your ad of interest! Plus, people love to laugh.

For instance, if you are marketing a cat or dog food, just remember that the subscribers of many of the ezines have a Fluffy or Fido and would be interested in your product. Your ad in an “off beat” ezine would catch their eye and Fluffy or Fido may get some new, healthy, natural food!

***Bigger… Not Always Better***

You’ll need to consider the number of subscribers to the ezine.

BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER!

Ezines with a smaller subscriber base are more likely to be related to your product or service. When this is true, your response rate will prove to be better than the results from a larger circulation that may not be targeted to your market.

***Twenty Bucks vs. A Hundred Bucks***

Don’t spend 100s of dollars on an ad (one that you think is the greatest ad ever written) without first TESTING the response to your ad.

There are several good ad trackers on the market today that are inexpensive and worth their weight in gold.

When a reader sees your ad, the first thing they see is your headline. It best be good… otherwise they won’t read the rest of your ad and certainly won’t visit your website.

You don’t need an audience of 25,000 + for 100 Bucks a pop to see whether readers will click on your ad. You can simply place your ad in an ezine that has an interest in your product or service with 3,000 or 8,000 subscribers for $20 or $25 and know if your ad is effective. If your response rate is low, chances are your headline did not catch their eye.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SPEND $100 TO FIND THIS OUT!

***The National Inquirer***

Stumped for some catchy words or a phrase for your headline?

Next time you are standing in line at the grocery checkout, grab a copy of the National Inquirer! Yup… that’s right! And how do you think they make their money?…

With catchy words and phrases!

How many times have you caught yourself looking at the front cover and saying, “yeah, right!”. Well…

Those “words” caught your eye, didn’t they?

Start making a list of those words and phrases and then take a look at your product or service and see how you can adapt them to your ad.

***Don’t Be Long-Winded***

Just because you can get 10-12 lines, 65 characters per line for your ad, don’t do it! Shorter is better.

People on the Internet are in a hurry… in a hurry to read more, more, and more! And the last thing they want is a long windy ad that can be stated in 3-5 lines including the headline and URL!

Success is easy when you stick to the basics. Make sure you master these key ingredients before you try to get too fancy.

Remember, be CREATIVE in your ad writing and keep it short ‘n sweet!

Again the headline did it for me. I really am a sucker for a good title. My imagination is off the clock before I have got to the first page. This guy has to be from Transylvania with a name like that. I can hear the wolves howling and almost smell the blood.

Gordon Brown was last night facing the prospect of going into this year’s general election with Britain’s economy back in recession.

The spectre of such a “double dip” downturn was being discussed as a realistic possibility after official figures showed that Britain’s economy was barely in positive territory in the fourth quarter of last year.

The Office for National Statistics said growth came in at a torpid 0.1 per cent – officially signalling the end of the worst recession since the Second World War but well below the City’s expected figure of 0.4 per cent.
Ministers are nervous that the initial figures for the first quarter of this year could show the economy slipping back into negative growth due to the withdrawal of the Government’s fiscal stimulus programme and the need for household debt to be repaid. They will be published on 23 April, just two weeks before the expected election date of 6 May.

Gordon Brown will miss Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons today after deciding to remain in Northern Ireland, where he spent the night in negotiations to avert a collapse of its power-sharing institutions.

Mr Brown has been at Hillsborough Castle, Co Down, since Monday afternoon after Sinn Fein signaled it was on the brink of pulling out of sharing power with the Democratic Unionists.

Overnight a mood of optimism which appeared to pervade an evening round-table plenary session chaired by Mr Brown and his Irish counterpart Brian Cowen Prime seems to have waned.

The talks broke up before dawn and are expected to resume around eleven o’clock, giving participants an opportunity to rest.

Experts have told of their surprise after witnessing a rare “divorce” between a pair of swans at a Gloucestershire wildfowl sanctuary.
The Bewick’s swans have returned to winter at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust centre at Slimbridge – but both have brought new partners.
It is only the second time in more than 40 years that a “separation” has been recorded at the centre.
Staff have described the new couplings as “bizarre”.
It is not unheard of for the birds, which usually mate for life, to find a new mate but it tends to be because one of the pair has died, they said.
During the past four decades 4,000 pairs of Bewick’s swans have been studied at Slimbridge, with only one previous couple moving on to find new partners.

The Guide has three general sections. Section one is from pages 1-80 and it’s a leveling guide covering all classes for the Alliance and the Horde. Like all good guides, it uses an in-game leveling add-on to make it as easy to use as possible. This in-game guide is great because you don’t have to switch back and forth between the game and the guide like in some other guides.

The setup process is easy and configures itself depending on your current character. You’ll learn exactly where to go, who to talk with and what to do. The guide keeps a marker on your map and shows a directional arrow on your screen after you accept a quest. The marker and arrow will lead you to the next step in the quest.

Something that you see in this guide and don’t find in other guides is that their talent guide is also in-game. You can just select the given templates which assign your talent points to the best spec for your character.

The second section of the guide is about making gold. Something to remember is that you won’t need to farm gold when you’re leveling to 80. The quests that you do in the first part will provide you with pretty much all the funding you need during that phase. It’s really only after you’ve leveled up that you’ll be able to really make bank anyway. Having said that , the gold making guide does teaches you how to make gold quickly for your mounts at levels 30 and 60 since having them makes leveling that much faster. The main focus of the gold guide is where to go to farm rare items, and how to win the auction house game. You can also learn leveling up every Profession with the gold guide.

The third and final section of the Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide teaches you how to be successful in player versus player combat (PVP). This is probably one of the best parts of the guide. Combat types are covered in detail, and it teaches you what you should do in order win from any class and race combination that you may face in WoW. You learn about which talents you should choose for every battle. There are even macros that you can copy.

The Ultimate WoW Guide has just about every aspect of World of Warcraft explained in detail. There’s a mount of information that you get from this unlike any other guide. Other guides normally cover one aspect of game play and the info you get from this guide is better than those individual guides.

I keep getting deflected by other interests on the Internet but I really must get on with the Book reviews.

I have always been fascinated by the great generals of history. Genghis is perhaps one of the better known and it was a pleasure to pick this book up at a reasonable price.

To quote the front flap of the Hard Cover Edition:-

So Genghis and his armies, led by his brothers and trusted generals, embark on their greatest journey, through present day Tibet, Iran and Iraq and on to the shores of the Mediterranean. Conquering city after city, one empire after another, by battle, by the siege warfare they have learnt from the Chin, by fear and by persuasion, the Mongolian power stretched over the entire region.

Genghis Khan conquered a greater empire than any other man. This achievement was made even more extraordinary as during these years, over these campaigns, his sons as well as his brothers were vying for his favour, for the right to lead the most successful of his armies, to bring in the greatest conquests, to achieve the succession.

Of course, the success of a book such as Bones of the Hills (Conqueror 3)
depends on the intense depiction of its heroic central character, and of the numerous novels which have tried to conquer Genghis Khan, none have got the hang of the task as well as Conn Iggulden.

I can only speak for the UK but looking at the International News CNN Fox etc all developed countries seem to be the same. We have all these Liberal laws giving all and sundry “Rights” and if we attempt to enforce a club rule off they go to the nearest tribunal to complain their “Rights” have been infringed.

My wife just shouted to tell me two psychopaths have just been jailed for at least 5 years with an indeterminate sentence. Their ages? 10 and 11. Their crime? Sexual sadism and attempted murder of two young kids of similar ages.

The defense, would you believe it, says that they came from a dysfunctional home poor things. Instead of going to school they sat around drinking vodka smoking cannabis and watching hard core pornographic films. Apparently they have five brothers. Because of their youth they cannot be named. Local people cannot be warned.

It would seem that the parents have a right to bring up their children as they wish. Do any of the “Lawmakers” as they now call themselves care about the rights of the child left for dead or the 9yr old who struggled off to find help. No doubt we will get the usual mealy mouthed platitudes and a nod in the direction of the EU. Before Blair gave us away to the EU we used to be a proud nation standing for fairplay honesty and hard work.

I give up I really do!!
