YES, you should read the 7 books in sequence. It’s well worth it. And YES, the books are a thousand times better than the movies.
The books are even better than the movies. WAY better, although I like the movies too.
As for your other question, I highly recommend you read the other six books in their consecutive order before reading book seven. Book 7 has a lot of references to things that happened in the other books and things that are explained in the other books. It is best appreciated after having read the rest of the series. But you won’t have a problem because books 1-6 are also spectacular.
You would understand more of the seventh Harry Potter if you read the other books first but you can get it if you want to. The books are BETTER than the movies! They give a lot more detail.

the books are a million times better than the movies. they’re AMAZING lol!!!! you should definately read them, but you probably won’t understand much of it unless you start from the beginning. i know, it seems like a lot, but i honestly go through a book a day, cause they’re so good.

u need not read the whole series in order to understand the last book, but it would be an advantage if you have read the first six. they’re just the same as the movies so i do not see any reason for you not to understand the seventh. ENJOY! (p.s. it’s really good)
If you haven’t read books 1-6, don’t start reading no. 7. Read the others first, then read No. 7. The books are so much better than the movies, richer and deeper and more satisfying.
The books are much better than the movies and create a vivid and more wonderful story and setting. If you read the last one first you will miss some threads that runs throughout the series, a reward Rowling give her loyal readers. The bad part is that you will come away feeling disappointed at the movies a little.
Read them and enjoy them. It won’t be a waste of time.
Actually, the books are better than the movies they leave some stuff out in the movies. I would start with first one and continue they are kinda like potato chips, you cant read just one.
listen to may…she said exactly what i would have said. u’ll be confused with book 7 if u haven’t read the others. the movies only have so much of the plot included. much more to the story than the movies show!

no no it’s no use reading the last book after seeing the five movies
you dont know how much the movie lacks the real plotline
and the twists in the scripts are unimaginable
a true harry potter fan would hate the movies
and i assure you you will enjoy reading all the books
