i dont understand!! why does everyone think that harry potter is only for geeks!!!! i am a freshman in college and was elected homecoming queen in high school. the thing is is that harry potter is so fantastic and the author is such a wonderful author and i dont understand why people think that its for dorks!!! loads of amazing people read these series and the people that are making fun of the people who read it just make me upset and confused!

I agree with everyone else. Harry Potter is just simply amazing, no matter what your age, or what kind of a person you are. It’s brilliant. And tell those stupid prats that make fun of the series to p*ss off, because they are just ignorant to the genious of the world JK has created. It’s their loss.
People who look down upon Harry Potter fans and call them geeks/dorks are insecure and ignorant. I assume it’s because of the “magic” and when they think of magic, they think of dungeons and dragons and anything fantasy, and because of that they link to geeks/dorks…maybe. But there’s a lot more to life than popularity and appearances, like enjoying great books for one. lol. Like always, putting down others is just a way for them to “feel” like they’re better and important.
Anyway, nobody should ever be discouraged by the real-life Draco Malfoys (Don’t take this personally, Draco-fans) for loving books, especially Harry Potter. Actually, feel sorry for them, they’re missing out on SO much.
I think that they are very interesting books and the reason people think that you’re a geek if you read them, is because they have so much detail and excitement in them they are so thick and people can’t be bothered reading them and they think that you’re a geek if you try.
Harry Potter books are great, and I’m not saying that just because I’m a freshman in high school, I really think that JK Rwoling is a genius, and I can’t believe how amazing the books are. It’s not for geeks, and who ever says that doesn’t have good taste.

i totally agree…i read the whole series and have it…my friends don’t call me a geek though….they call me a book worm, book maniac, ect…

but harry potter is very good and don’t care about what other people say…all you know is that people who haven’t read it are missing out on a bunch of stuff!! and when you start talking harry potter with people who read harry potter…they won’t know what your talking about!!

DUDE i ADORE harry potter im a sophmore in high school. Only ppl who havent read the series thinks it’s for geeks cause they are wonderful books!! I have some freinds who think im a nerd but it’s because they like suck at reading and lke never open a book.PEACE OUT HARRY POTTER FANS Lololool

Well, in my opinion all people who hate Harry Potter are the bad people(I really don’t like to use the term “geek”). They are truly missing out on a phenomenal series!!! This series got me so much more intrigued with my literature! Without it, I don’t know what I’d be like at this very moment, actually. By the way Congrats on becoming Homecoming Queen in HS, all the highschools in Fort Dodge are having their dances and games this weekend! Go Gaels!!! Sorry that was a little off topic…. But ROCK ON HARRY POTTER FANS!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. – I get teased almost every day just for reading the books or listening to Pottercast, and that makes me so mad!!!
I am not a geek and I am obsessed with Harry Potter. I get my fair share of teasing at work for reading it but ya know what, it is their loss as far as I am concerned. By the way I’m a 26 year old mother of 2.
I agree. Although i am a nerd, i agree with you when you say that is it for all poeple. My sister is freshman and was homecomnig queen too, which is kind of weird, but yeah, she loves the series as well. Yeah, i think it’s more like a stereotype that “nerds” like Harry Potter and fantasy novels, but I really think it is for all people. Cheers!
I support you 100%, and I also think that Harry Potter is great. I’m also freshman at college and I’ve read all the HP books. My problem is that my friends don’t like fiction and that’s why they don’t like Harry Potter!!!
